SUMMARY:The Way of Competition
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Way of Life competition\, held on 15th September 2024\, was a lively and inspiring event that brought together over 500 competitors and around 100 volunteers. This event was designed to promote community outreach and highlight the true values of Islam by uniting people from diverse backgrounds for a day of learning\, unity\, and cultural exchange. \nThe day began with a peaceful Quran recitation by Zahid Scandari. Following that\, event organizer Zafar Hassan Bashar delivered a welcoming speech\, outlining the main goal of the competition — to unite individuals from various cultures and languages\, in line with the message of the book The Way of Life\, which focuses on spreading Islam’s peaceful teachings. \nSister Paimana Khalid\, head of the Sisters’ Committee\, then shared the meaningful work being done by the Hayat Foundation\, explaining how its initiatives aligned with the event’s mission of promoting education\, empowerment\, and community engagement. \nOne of the event’s highlights was a captivating speech by renowned journalist and public speaker Yvonne Ridley. She expressed her admiration for the event\, saying: “I can’t think of a single event like this\, where mothers\, daughters\, fathers\, and sons have come together in such a beautiful way — to not just compete\, but to celebrate knowledge and education as a family.” Yvonne praised the event’s unique concept and expressed her hope that images from the day would reach Afghanistan to inspire others about the value of education and its power to transform lives. \nThe uplifting mood continued with a beautiful nasheed performance by Zahid Bashir\, followed by an inspiring talk from Sheikh Saeed Aqeel Hashimi\, who emphasized the importance of events that blend learning with faith to strengthen communities. \nOnce the speeches and performances wrapped up\, the competition began. Participants engaged in a 75-minute exam that tested their knowledge of Islamic principles and values based on the book The Way of Life. The energy in the room was palpable as competitors enthusiastically tackled the questions. \nMeanwhile\, visitors and supporters explored a vibrant market filled with stalls offering Islamic books\, art\, clothing\, and delicious food and snacks. It was a great opportunity for people to socialize\, shop\, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. \nWe extend our heartfelt thanks to the Inspired Foundation\, Khair Andish (خیر اندیش)\, Afghan Muslim Association\, Afghan Islamic Culture Center\, Afghan community in Preston\, Afghan community in Leeds\, Afghan community in Birmingham\, Zazai Community in Birmingham\, Islamic Integration Community Centre\, Hendon Mosque\, SLMCC\, and many other community leaders and volunteers for their invaluable help in organizing this event. Without their support and effort\, making this day a success would have been much more challenging. \nIn the end\, the Way of Life competition was a tremendous success. It beautifully combined education\, community building\, and cultural exchange\, leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved. The event wasn’t just about testing knowledge — it was a celebration of unity\, learning\, and the timeless values of Islam. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n  \n
